About the Project

These clients wanted to update their home and the initial call to us was for a paint consultation. As they showed me around the home, we discussed ideas on how to improve and elevate the functionality and look of their spaces, starting with the family room. This was the room used on the daily and was the one that needed the most attention in my opinion, followed by the living room, stairwell, and primary bedroom styling. The formal aesthetic of the home gave us the design direction for the renovation.

What They Wanted

What We Did

We re-imagined the furniture layout in the family room, and give them individual comfortable swivel recliners, creating a cozy setting for tête-à-tête conversations or entertaining.
Designed a new lighting plan, with several lighting layers to create appropriate ambiance as required. Added a gorgeous decorative ceiling fixture for task lighting, added fine crystal wall sconces, to relate to the existing crystal chandelier in the dinette, and relocated pot lights to highlight new wall art.
Added a luxurious and striking grasscloth paper for texture and coziness, as well as dress up the fireplace.
Selected and coordinated; new upholstery, furniture, carpet, lighting, accessories, and paint colours.
Designed a custom wool rug in a coordinating colour palette to support all of the upholstery fabrics and colours, and add warmth underfoot
Re-used and relocated their existing and sentimental art pieces within the space, added sculptures, and small objets for a layered finishing touch
Room Styling
Designed a custom hand-painted mural as a feature in the stairwell, as well as updated millwork finish and carpet.
Selected new upholstery and designed a contemporary wool rug for the living room
