These clients had tried twice to get their dream kitchen renovation underway only to get stuck in the weeds with the myriad of choices and decisions required. After much research and deliberation the husband gifted his wife one of our design consultation Gift Certificates for Xmas. At the initial consultation, the clients shared with me that those 2 less than fruitful attempts had really damped their enthusiasm for their home, and maintenance of it was starting to slip. As a designer, nothing tugs at me more than a home that doesn’t support the people living in it, and I could tell how dejected they both were. But I could also see the space had potential!
Once the first draft was presented their excitement began to build at the real possibilities for their home and then the plan evolved and grew to include the whole main level and part of the 2nd level. That’s a lot of excitement right there!
Defining their style and aesthetic with custom cabinetry, earthy, organic, and tactile materials, and colours really brought out their excitement and restored their pride of place.
